About Cone Beam CT (CBCT) Tumor Targeting
Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is an imaging technique that provides computed tomographic (CT) images from a rotational scan prior to radiation treatment. It allows for an accurate 3D representation of your body and tumor prior to delivering the daily radiation treatment. This allows us to use tighter radiation beams to target the tumor, thus leading to less side effects from treatment. A CBCT takes less than a minute to acquire but increases the accuracy of the radiation beam tremendously.
